Evaluation of sewhat

Overall I enjoyed the whole experience of getting a piece of work ready to be show cased and performed however, it was very nerve racking going on stage even for those 30 or so seconds. In our dress rehearsal I could see fine through the mask and didn't need any adjustment but when it was actually time too performe the light were dim and I couldn't see getting up the stairs and nearly fell up them.

Marvel research

this is a fight scene from the ocular spider man trilogy from marvel. the main reason i looked at marvel is too see how they set out fight scenes because they have a range of comic which base around fighting and battle.
how can i relate this too my project?
well i had already sorted out a split cell scene which looked similar too this before researching but i didn't want too elaborate i case i completely went wrong and after seeing this you can clearly see where i got my idea of the split cell scene from with both good and bad guy facing off in the middle. also i dint want to directly copy how they did there fight scenes because then my piece would have no originality and would basically be a marvel comic with different characters sort of like how they present their comics now.
foe example-

this is another fight scene from marvel which is basically exactly the same as the spider man scene but its captain america. too me that seems repetitive and for the audience to continue to engage in the comic it needs some kind of differentiation through each trilogy.

sponge bob cartoon research

this is a scene from the sponge bob movie which i found interesting because when spongebob and patrick are nearly dead they turn into the inanimate versions of them selves (a dried out starfish and a sponge). This can be related directly to my comic strip as there is multiple death scenes and as the story is based around inanimate objects.

Build up to sewhat

This was the beginning of my mask where I just got a solid based so the mask wouldn't collapse when I added too it. I also took the measurements so it would fit perfectly when on. I held it together with glue and duck tape.
Here you can see that ive started to add a facial structure which will be the based of the face. I created this by cutting strips of cardboard and rolling them up into a filter shape which would make a nice curve in the face.
Here I began to fill it out so it didn't look boxy. I did this by scrunching up newspaper and sticking It down with duck tape.
This is the piece just before I covered it in paper mashay however after more research I realised that the ears were rounded so I decidd to make a hat which would cover the ear and still fit in with the context of wind in the willows as in the cartoon sketches the weasels had hats
This is the painted piece with the hat. I did the base colour brown and then sponged some black in too it to unevenly to make it look scruffy and worn. I Lao tried to make the hat look worn by not making it tight to the cardboard structure and letting the meterial flop down. I tried to go for a bowlers hat sort of look.
The final adjustment I made was the eyes ,which I originally planned to do in the first place. I also used green glitter to make them stand out as the overall piece was very darkly coloured.

Another Change!

Ive decided to not do photography! and i am moving towards the graphic design/illustration this is because i am not enjoying the type of photography that this project condones. As i like doing sports photography it wouldn't fit into the project properly and if i showed the work to someone it wouldn't jump out and say it was alice in wonderland. basically i want to create a piece of work which directly relates to alice in wonderland.

direction change

After editing the photos i took 2 weeks ago and drawing up some illustrations to go with them i realised it was the most effective thing for me to do. so i decided to used the blur tool to blur the backgrounds of some of them to try and change the direction slightly, I've also been looking at motion photography and i really like some of the stop motion photos such as,

these two photos are my favourites of the ones i found on google images because they are easily related to something i do outside of college so it would be hard o take my work outside of college and fit it into my social life. also i think it would motivate me more if i based it around something i already enjoy.
some other techniques i would like to use is verier shutter speeds which would give me images like,

these images which i think are extremely interesting to look at because of the trails you get and in the dice photo you can see the motion of the dice and how it traveled.
overall it hunk if i try and implement these techniques into this reject and some of my hobbies and interests then my ideas wouldn't go dry and id be working without thought easier.

Healthy living

this is the piece i photographed to put into photoshop and underneath it would have the caption "how highly do you think about cigarets?" i chose this because in the illustration it shows the cigaret taller than skyscrapers and looking down on you.
this piece was the start point for our healthy living project. at this point i was in a group of 2 and we decided to try and promote healthy living by creating a series of comic like posters which show the fag as being a villain and the carrot as the supper hero. we came to this conclusion because if we gave people a alternative lifestyle (smoking and eating shit) then they would eventually hate it because all these fast food, cigaret companies are looking for is your money and eventually would end up clogging our towns and cities with their produce rather than healthy and more interesting things such as, parks etc.
