The blue print/designs process room

In this room it shows how much thought and effort went into each individual piece. Each of these pieces of paper consists of all the dimensions and mechanisms each piece will have. It's also been drawn in multiple angles so that when it goes to actually be made there is no guess work and everything turns out to plan. Personally I find it befalling how much work is for one of these sheets and then in the next room it showed quite a few of the paper models which came from these design sheets. Finally after you walked through that room/hall it showed you the final outcome of the whole castle which was fantastic. these blue prints gave me a real life example of how my wind in the willows costume and mask design work should look.

Harry Potter trip

These are the photos from the Harry Potter trip we went on a month or so back and it was extremely interesting how much work goes into every scene and costumes which are used in the films. The paper/cardboard models which were made to show how the sets would look. I found then interesting because they weren't very big and wouldn't be difficult to construct in college.

Image manipulation

in this session we've been trying to create a ufo hoax which looks as if its from a 1970s polaroid. We started by going outside and taking photos of different landscapes and then we used a super macro lens to get fall detailed close up pictures of the object that we would then shrink to make it look like ufo. we then created a offish colour layer to go underneath the whole image. we did this so that when we grouped our ufo and the background together we could then allow the off coloured layer to go through. this will make it look aged. we then put the image into illustrator and made a background slightly bigger that the manipulated image to make it look like a polaroid. to make it have the weathered/battered effect i went to filter-render-clouds and then messed about with what colours worked best.

Uni Trips - Lincoln & Nottingham

Lincoln
When we arrived at lincoln it almost instantly felt like you weren't meant to be there and you weren't welcome. That assumption was then clarified when we entered the architecture building and was immediately challenged and told to go elsewhere. When we did finally find an exhibition which would allow us to have a look around lets just say the work wasn't my cup of tea, especially in the fine art department. the work looked as if it had been chucked together the week before the exhibition and didn't really look as if it had any reasoning behind it. Although there were a few things that were interesting such as, the interactive product design room which looked as if it wasn't in the exhibition from hue outside due to the darkness in side the room and the lack of advertisement to tell us it was part of the exhibition however, once inside it was very interesting to me and some of the techniques they were using gave me ideas for my own work. We then left the university shortly after.
Walking into central lincoln the vibe did generally feel as if it was picking up other than the fact that lincoln seems to feel like its built on a cliff side.
