Liverpool

The first gallery we went to was the walker art gallery which had a range of different kinds of art how ever there was an abundance of history based art work which I really didn't like and I just seemed to walk round aimlessly and without much purpose. We then went to the blue coat centre which was actually really interesting because it was different to anything I've seen before for example there was a translucent block in a corner of a black room which had neon lights coming out of it and when I asked one of the supervisors they explained it was to represent a party in which you aren't invited to. We then left the blue coat centre and had a lunch break, after lunch me and will went to the open eye gallery which was a series of photos about Japan after the atomic bomb and I found the landscape photography interesting as its all weathered and destroyed architecture which gave the impression of the struggle that the country was having during this time. We then went to the Tate and met up with the rest of the class. We looked around the Tate for about half an hour and we then went to Andy Warhol exibition which was really interesting and my favourite bit about it was the soup piece which after talking to Jon told me he drew soup cans because that's all he ever used to have when he went to his mums house. 

Bradford Universty And Museum/Gallery

We began our trip at the university of Bradford where we had the option to attend one of two talk one of which was filming/photography/media based and the other was animation/gaming. The talked which applied most to me was the media talk however, the overall feel of the university building was very dull and didn't give a good vibe. We then went to look at the student accommodation which was very small and the bathroom was the equivalent of that in a mobile home. overall I don't think that Bradford university is for me as it felt depressing and boring which isn't what a university should be striving for if trying to establish their selves.

 

London Trip

We got on the bus at approximately 6:00 however, we had to wait for someone to turn up so we set off slightly after we sat down.
At half 8 we went to North Hampton services and had a McDonalds breakfast and set off again half an hour later. We then didn't stop again until design your future.
This is where I spoke to lots of university students and tutors that told me about there specific photography course. Which gave me an indication on where I would like to go to university. My first choice in university is ual which is based in the centre of London and my second choice is Nottingham Trent as its a good university and its closer to home however, I don't see that as much of a positive factor. We left design your future at about 12/ half past and set off to the Tate modern art gallery.
On the way there we went past the poppies which was the most interesting thing we saw on the way to Tate.
When visiting the Tate we walked past lots of buskers who were really irritating so we went into the gallery.
there wasn't much of interest in the Tate as I'm not really interested in fine art. So we then set off again to the natural history and V/A which were both interesting however the natural history  was the most interesting and my favourite bit of it was the earthquake area and the dinosaur/ ice age area.
we then set off back home at about 6:17pm due to someone being late.
we stopped off at the services and changed buses and got home at about half past 10.   

UCAS University choices 11th november 2014

The two subject areas I will be looking into are photography and video/film. The universities I will be looking at are UAL, Nottingham Trent, Hertfordshire and south Wales because the courses these universities provide interest me. However, if I was to go to UAL or Nottingham Trent I would be looking more into the photography side and if I was to go to Wales or Hertfordshire I would be looking at videography and filming. I've separated the universities like this because each of these universities has much different courses and works with different people for example, Hertfordshire works directly with warner brothers and Wales does a lot of filming for the BBC whereas London is the main place for all successful art and design based businesses. so each of my choices at the moment have their positives and negatives.
